Timing
- Updates go out in batches, up to 45 seconds after the call.
- If one activity gets several updates in that time, only the newest is sent and billed.
- An update that cannot reach the phone right away is dropped. The next update carries the full state.
- An end waits up to 1 hour for a phone that is offline. After that it is dropped.
- A push notification waits up to 3 days for a phone that is off. iPhone keeps only the newest one.
Billing
- The unit is one push to one phone, never one request. A group update that reaches 500 phones is 500 pushes.
- Live Activities and Push Notifications share one monthly count.
- The Free plan includes 7,000 pushes a month. After that, start, update, and push send answer 402
FREE_TIER_LIMIT_REACHEDuntil the next month. Paid plans include more: see pricing. - Example: 30 updates to 500 phones is 15,000 pushes.
